The Smoky Mountain Pottery Festival will be held today starting at 9:00am and last until 5:00 this evening at the Townsend Visitors Center. This free event will feature demonstrations of wheel-throwing, hand-building, and other techniques. The festival will also have raku firing, a children’s tent and other educational programs, distinctive pottery in many styles, over two dozen artisan booths, music and fun activities. Special guest potter Hugh Bailey will also be at this event. Come experience the great art of pottery.
