There are prime photography locations scattered throughout the Great Smoky Mountains National Park where you can capture the beautiful colors of the Smokies. Color is in the detail of the hues in the bird’s feathers or in the blue of the piercing high-noon sky. Color is everywhere, but your imagination and camera can help capture it.
The 2008 Great Smoky Mountains Photo Contest theme this year is “Color.” Send in your best, colorful photographs that you have taken in the National Park. The grand prize is a voucher for admissions to a Tremont program of your choice, up to a maximum of $450. Second prize will cover up to $225 admissions at Tremont, and third prize is up to $100 voucher for any program. If you win and do not have time to attend a program at Tremont, you can give your voucher to someone else. The winner will be featured in the fall newsletter and on the Web site.
Rules: Amateur photographers only! You are limited to 5 submissions per person, and entries must be submitted by October 31, 2008. Photos can be submitted electronically, by mail, or in person. Visit the website for a complete list of rules, details of how to submit photos, and entry forms.
